Econowind is looking for Product engineers

The position

You are part of a small engineering team responsible for technical design of complete wind propulsion systems. You ensure compliance with technical requirements for wind assisted ship propulsion systems, provided by classification societies, with respect to their stuctural and mechanical design. This function reports to the product manager.   

You will work on the engineering package, strength calculations and standardization of the products of Econowind, including the 16 meter and 30 meter VentoFoil wings.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Make technical drawings for commercial use, class approval, flag and owner 
  • Make strength calculation in accordance with appropriate regulations and class standards 
  • Ensure revision control through all drawing packages and drawing changes 
  • Take part in product development projects 

Qualifications and Skills


  • Shipbuilding engineer / mechanical engineer with experience in the shipbuilding industry 
  • Skilled with drawing in AutoCAD / solid works 
  • Skilled in strength calculations 
  • Clear communicator 
  • Precise 


  • Experience with class approval processes 
  • Experience at an equipment supplier in the maritime industry 
  • Mechanical engineering experience (hydraulic drive & control) 
  • Electical engineering experience (electic drive, control & automation)
